ALWAYS LEARNING

       Hi Guys,

Well, this may be my last blog.  If that's a fact, I wanted to share what I have learned these past 3 monthes.  Most importantly, what I have learned this past month.
My first month: what I learned: procrastination is a bad, bad thing. Also, thinking out of that first month all I needed was a week to lose weight.
My 2nd Month: that all vegies are good for you and not all snacks are. Reading food labels is a pain, but necessary.  Eating 4ounces of protein at a meal is very difficult, but also necessary.
Not being able to lift weights while on a diet is hard for me. Even knowing that nutrition is what helps you lose weight, more then weights.
It has been very hard for me to lose weight without lifting weights.  Because, that's all I knew
until this competition.  Believe it or not, I am still struggling with that.  I know that nutrition is important, but I still believe working out or lifting weights is also important. I think they go hand in hand.  Hopefully, this Monday, when I see my doctor, I can finally join that gym.
But, It will be too late for me, unfortunately.  Now, having said all that. I am going to keep going forward with this.  Because of my 3rd month and I really want to be in shape.  Also, I really want to lose the Diabettes
Most of this month has gone well.  But the last 3 days before Easter has been a struggle with chocolate.  I am sure I have gained a  pound or 2 leading up to the next weigh-in.  Plus, one day of Fast Food.
I have found that eating better is great.  But I have also found that when I eat badly it is now affecting my stomach in a bad way.  I get lots of gas and a pain in my stomach. So, that says a lot about eating healthy.
Well, I may or may not see you on the other side of the 26th of April.  Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!

NEW WORKOUT

      HI EVERYONE,

I am very talkative today.  I saw this on Doctor Oz.  I have not tried this yet.  This guy was
formerly Diabetic, so of course I was interested.  Their were only 3 exercises and he said
you can do these in less then 5 minutes.

Get on a stationary bike, on an easy speed and pedal for a minute or so and then put the
bike on the hardest speed and go crazy for 20 seconds only. The other two exercises are
pushups and squats.  Do as many as you can for 30 seconds only. Then you are done.

I believe these 3 exercises work your core.  Give it a try and I will tell you how I am doing
with these exercises as well.

I HAVE MORE TO SAY

          Hello,
I want to talk about exercise right now.  I know that nutrition is best when losing weight.
But, you have to throw in some exercise to get to where you want to be. Being a guy,
of course, I want 6 pack abs.  After talking to Jamie at the last weigh-in and all the research
I have been doing online, its all about the core.   Every personal trainer I have read online
and anybody else who has the next new diet out their says nutrition and exercise together
is what we all need.
Mostly, its how you eat.  30 years ago, when I was in my twenties, it was all about exercise.
So, when I started this, that was all I knew.  No excuses, just explaining all those previous posts
about how I could not exercise, because of my toe.
Also, about my toe. I said in the previous post my toe is a lot better and that is true.  So, that's why I started the cardio, But, I have not told my doctor.  Actually he has told me no gym until
it is healed completely.  I guess I am just making an end run on him by doing cardio at home.
( With shoes on )............

I am not over doing it, but I wish I could.  Because for me exercise helps me a lot when losing weight.......It always has in the past.  I see the doc 5 days before the next weigh-in.  So, its all
about nutrition and I am eating better and I will continue to eat better.  Long after this contest.

PUSHING FORWARD

            Hi All,
As the title says I am still pushing forward.  I need to lose 16lbs., by the 26th.

Because I skated thru the first month, its like starting over.  An Update on my toe
is that it is doing well.  I have been doing cardio workouts for about 10 days now.
I am trying to do them everyday.  But, I also know if I want to lose weight I have
to eat correctly as well.
Today I went shopping for produce and healthy snacks.  Then I prepped the vegies I like to
eat as snacks...  They are green, red and yellow peppers and red radishes.  I put them in ziplock
bags and grab them whenever I want a healthy snack.  I do not put anything on them, just
eat them raw.

I used to manage DANNY'S ORGANIC MARKETPLACE.......Believe it or not.  Last week I started to purchase organic meat from Heinens.  Its best to start out slow with Organics if you are not used to it.  But, I have to tell you organics taste better then traditional food.  But they are also expensive.  But, I can give you a quote from the man that owned Danny's.  By the way is name is
Danny:  The quote is " Pay now or pay later"  end quote...............

APRIL 6TH---2014

         Hello my followers,
Well, it seems I am not going to make the cut, for going forward after 4-26,
the next weigh-in.  Now don't get me wrong, I want to make the cut.

But, just recently I have realized that first month that I gained 8#s was more
of a problem then I first thought.  This past weigh-in I lost what I gained and I was
thrilled.  But, that 5% that I need to lose by 4-26 is from my starting weight. So,
when I looked in the paper today expecting a loss of 8.4 lbs.  It just said .4lbs.

Meaning I still need to lose 5% of my starting weight.  Which is another 16 lbs. in
3 weeks.  Right now it is not looking good, but I am not depressed, alittle bit mad
at myself for not doing the right things in the first month.  I am passed that.

I just have to concentrate on these 3 weeks.  This is where the tweaking really
comes in.  I have not given up and for the people who do not really know me,
I have lost that amount before.  I really want to continue in this, very badly.
So, lets see what I can really do.  Regardless of what happens in these next 3 weeks.

I am committed to a new life style.  No Pat that does not mean I am going to put
myself in an institution..........lol

WEIGHT LOSS

      Hi Everyone,

You know what they say, You put your mind to something and you can achieve anything.
Well, I have lost what I gained, on the first month of this thing. I was early at the weigh-in and right when I walked in Jamie said to me, you lost weight. That was really nice to hear.

Then we talked for a little while, before everyone else started rolling in. I hung around for a little while and talked to some people, that was nice.  Because, everyone was giving suggestions and trying to help me out.

A couple meals this week, I have cheated.  In the past, I would not of cared, but I actually felt bad about it and it kind of messed up my stomach.  That last statement makes me want to try that much harder!!!

Since , I started with this, I have been researching on line a lot.  I have spent about 200 bucks on e-books and various downloads.  So today, in the mail, I receive a DVD that's says
Cardio and Strength Training Workout for Seniors!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody that knows me, knows that the last word in that title bothers me.  Until you all realize my Birthday is 4-4-14 and on that day, which is tomorrow, I am "55"...........lol.....
I love to laugh and that is the funniest thing...Unless of course, if Pat is chiming in!!!!!!
No more slapping me Pat, I am actually going in the right direction.  You know the direction you are supposed to go, when trying to lose weight and change your life for the better for ever.
My goal was to lose 50 lbs., I am adding to this goal, I want Jamies physique!!!!!!!!!!

                                           GOOD LUCK TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!------------------------Bob

STILL ON THE PATH

   Hello everyone.

Well, my doctor still has not let me join a gym yet.  I do have an appointment with him this Monday.  He told me to wear my surgical shoe for seven days and then put my tennis shoe on for the next 3 days.  Right up to my Monday appt.  Hopefully, I will be able to continue to wear the shoe.  As usual, we will see.

I had an appt., with Cori on Tuesday--Our Nutritionist.  It went very well. She answered all of my questions.  I gave her an update of how I am doing and what I feel I need to do going forward.  Of Course, with her input on everything I told her.

The only cheating I have done is having a piece of cake on 3-2. My Neices Baby Shower. I am
pretty sure I worked that off by now.....lol     I have now been on this path for about 2 weeks.
I am eating 3 meals a day and 3 snacks a day.  I have found that I need a snack after dinner, but only sometimes.  I am still tweaking what I am eating.  Their is a difference between my scale and the Lean Living scale.  Its 3.8 lbs, so when I weigh myself here, I have to add those lbs. to my total.

If, I read it right today, I have lost the weight I gained.  That would be 8 lbs down.  Back where I started with a much better attitude then when I started this Journey.  I love eating certain raw vegies as snacks.  What I need to put in my diet is fruit.  Its in the house, I just do not know why I have not been eating fruit yet.  I will figure this out, as well.

                                                              Until next time-----------Bob
